"No child should go without presents, food, and most of all, love, at the holidays," Pastor Ivory Curry said. "The support of our businesses, private citizens, and especially our faith-based community is the key to this Christmas Toy Giveaway. We had more donations than ever this year, and every one of them had the same goal: to make sure these kids had a good Christmas."Â
Curry said there was a long list of those who donated funds or presents for the giveaway, so many that they couldn't be counted. While a number of them can be found in a below photo of last month's banquet program, he named a few more: First Baptist Church of Prescott, First United Methodist, St. Marks, Mt. Zion, Casa Carlos, Bank of Delight, Farmers Bank & Trust, the Deons, the Harrises, Tewonnia Cole Franklin, and so many more. Curry said each and every one of them will receive a Christmas card and a thank you for making this event for the children a success.Â
And no question, those children were thrilled with the party. Five-year-old Ari said the best part was the bikes, and when her sister, Lilly (age 9), was asked about her favorite of the party, her response was, "Everything."
Seven-year-old Ava was particularly feeling the Christmas spirit; she was all decked out in shiny Christmas garland to celebrate the holiday. (see photo above and below) She said he was excited about the toys.Â
Whether it was picking out a book or grabbing a treat from all the lovely ladies in the lobby, listening to the music deejayed by Carlos VanHook, or just eagerly waiting their turn for the drawing by Pastor Curry and Miss Rashayla, the children at Curry's Christmas Toy Giveaway today had a happy holiday time from start to finish.Â
