PRESS RELEASE

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Following Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ roundtable discussion with African American business leaders, Sanders’ spokeswoman Alexa Henning released the following readout:

“Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders hosted a roundtable discussion yesterday with African American business leaders across the state, Secretary of Transformation and Shared Services Joseph Wood, and Secretary of Labor and Licensing Daryl Bassett, to celebrate Black History Month and reaffirm her commitment to make Arkansas one of the best places in the nation to start and grow a business.

"The Governor thanked the group for their leadership in growing Arkansas’ economy, and shared her vision to build a skilled, qualified workforce through her new Career Ready Pathways program in Arkansas LEARNS that will partner local businesses with high schools to prepare students for the workforce. She also reiterated her commitment to shrinking the size and scope of government to help businesses thrive. The business leaders expressed their concerns about inflation and higher interest rates hindering their ability to grow and expand, as well as their desire to help mentor other business owners along a path to success.”
