HOPE — Hope Public Schools Superintendent Dr, Bobby Hart will be honored with a farewell
reception Tuesday, June 1, from 2-4 p.m. in the rotunda at Hempstead Hall on the University of
Arkansas-Hope campus.

All faculty, staff, students, parents of the Hope Public Schools and the districtwide community in
Hope and Hempstead County are invited to attend the come and go event.
COVID-19 protocols as observed on the UAHT campus will be required.

Dr. Hart, who has served as superintendent of the HPS for nine years, has accepted the
superintendent’s post in the Searcy Public Schools in White County. Hart will assume duties in
Searcy on July 1 after a successor has been named by the HPS Board of Education.

He has lead the HPS since 2012 and pioneered the Hope Academy of Public Service and Hope
Collegiate Academy concepts to facilitate greater college readiness and access among HPS
students. Hart oversaw the expansion of the Beryl Henry Elementary School campus, the
establishment of one of the first school-based health clinics in Arkansas, the Bobcat Clinic, and
has put the HPS on a “one to one” computer resource basis for students districtwide.

The HPS was among the best prepared school districts in Arkansas in responding to the
COVID-19 crisis under Hart’s leadership and the HPS/ExpressRx partnership established during
his tenure has been responsible for brining COVID-19 immunizations to more than 1,500
Hempstead County residents.

Hart came to the HPS after eight years as principal of the Genoa Central High School in
Texarkana, and he had been in public education as a teacher, coach and principal since 1994.
He currently serves as an adjunct professor of education at Southern Arkansas University in
Magnolia and was inducted into the SAU Educational Leadership Hall of Fame in 2019.
