Hempstead County Historical Society Meeting October 22
Did you know that there were four candidates that ran for President in 1860 and that Abraham Lincoln was not allowed on the ballot in Arkansas? Come learn about this and how the presidential election played out in Hempstead County and Arkansas in 1860 with Historic Washington State Park Curator Josh Williams. With another upcoming presidential election learn about the similarities and differences of one in 1860.

The Hempstead County Historical Society will meet on Tuesday evening October 22, 2024 at the Washington Methodist Church in Washington, Arkansas at 7pm. The church is located at 124 Hwy 195. Everyone is welcome.

The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
