Veterans from all over the area gathered at Hempstead Hall for a celebration thrown by the Hope Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Rotary, and Civitan, with additional sponsoring by Tyson and HAPS.

Chairman Bob Willis gave a welcome address to the crowd as everyone enjoyed a meal of fried catfish and chicken with hushpuppies and coleslaw provided by Hope Lions Club and served by member of ROTC. After the Posting of the Colors and Pledge of Allegiance, Arnetta Bradford sang the National Anthem.

Guest speaker Richard Green addressed the crowd, speaking on the importance and history of military service, and the contribution of veterans. After closing remarks by Bob Willis, door prizes were drawn as the crowd enjoyed camaraderie and conversation.
