Board members said that it costs $100 to rent out the community center for events and $50 for nonprofits, but Living Hope Disability Ministry says that they don't make enough in donations to afford that and virtual events and meetings just aren't the same as in person ones.

The Board agreed to table the request until the next meeting so they can look over things and discuss it more.

Finance Director Debbie Hall also went before the Board Tuesday to request permission to destroy any support documents and semi-permanent records that she deems necessary that are dated prior to 2010. This includes invoices, payroll records, receipts, deposit slips, bank statements, journals, ledgers, check book registers, etc. It does not include permanent records such as employee retirement documents and annual financial audits.

The Board approved of Hall's request.

The Board also approved of the 38th annual National Night Out, which is an annual community-building campaign that attempts to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. This effort attempts to enhance relationships between neighbors and law enforcement and bringing back a true sense of community. The event would be sponsored by National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and is set to be held Aug. 3.
