Hope, AR – In light of the continued precautions surrounding COVID-19, ROC has decided to cancel the annual ‘ROCtober Fest’ events this year. “However,” states Jennifer Block, VP of Development, “we still want to provide the community with some fun and safe activities for the fall. That’s when we decided to do ‘ROCtober Fest COVID Style’. In lieu of the big event, we will have four smaller, socially distanced fundraisers”.
The excitement begins with several sessions of ‘ROC it with Paint & Sip’. Choice of dates are Sept. 26th, Oct. 3rd, 17th, and 31st. Each session will be offered in-person, with a maximum of 10 participants or on Zoom for participants that would rather join from home. For the price of $35.00 in-person and home participants will be supplied with all materials, including wine. For non-sippers or bring your own ‘sip’, sessions will be $30.00, with all materials. Each session begins at 6pm and ends at 8pm.
The next event is Virtual Bingo Night! The dates are scheduled for Oct. 9th and 30th, starting at 7pm to 8pm. This Bingo night is completely virtual, and entrants can enjoy the fun from home in their favorite easy chair. Entry is $10 and comes with one Bingo face, each additional face is $2. Each Bingo will be entered into a drawing to be held at the end of the night, for one of three cash prizes: $50, $75, $150. Bingo faces will be emailed to entrants or can be printed and mailed on request.
“Who isn’t ready for a big bowl of homemade chili?” asks Block. ROC is preparing to meet that need! On Oct. 15th from 4:30pm – 6pm, the organization will be hosting a ‘Drive Thru Chili Supper’, complete with all the fixings, cornbread and a cinnamon roll for dessert. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children 6 & under.
Again, this year ROC will be doing a shotgun raffle! The prize is a Remington 870, 12 gauge with pump action. Each ticket is a $5 donation and ticket holders must be 18 years-old or older. Drawing will be held Oct. 30th at noon on Facebook Live. Some ROC staff will have tickets available. They will also be available at Melon Patch, ROC’n Reruns or at the administration building.
