Says, ‘Safe communities result in stronger economies and better schools'

JONESBORO – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge today announced at the Arkansas Rural Development Conference she would allocate $1 million to benefit the Arkansas State Police for the Emergency Vehicle Operations center and officer driving course. This announcement comes as investment in law enforcement is more crucial than ever. The Attorney General has always been a fierce advocate for our men and women in blue. The funds will be disbursed from the Consumer Education and Enforcement fund.

“When families look at moving to a community, they look at the crime rate and educational opportunities for their children. This training facility can be used by all state and local law enforcement to better train our officers so we can have safer communication,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “Over the last seven years, I have invested over $19 million to support our law enforcement because I know safe communities result in stronger economies and better schools.”

“Arkansas's law enforcement officers have no better friend than Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. She has always supported our law enforcement officers across the State and has worked to ensure that they have the training and tools necessary to better protect the communities they serve,” Said Arkansas Department of Public Safety Secretary Jami Cook. “Her continued investment in our police officers will have a lasting impact for years to come.”
