LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has announced the launch of a statewide traveling exhibit honoring missing people in Arkansas to bring attention to their stories. Rutledge will host various sites that will be open to the public and display posters of each individual’s story unique to that specific region of the state.
“After launching the missing person display in May, I knew I wanted to do everything in my power to highlight more of our missing Arkansans and focus the effort directly on their communities with the hope that we can get information on their disappearances,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “I will never stop working with families and law enforcement to provide training, resources and support because no one knows the heartbreak and worry these families go through.”
Next week, Rutledge will also host the Tenth Annual Never Forgotten event and luncheon for the law enforcement community and families of the missing which will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Benton Event Center. Participating law enforcement and attorneys will receive 3.5 hours of continuing education credit (CLE) for this all-day training. Families attending the event can participate in a breakout session that features a discussion on utilizing social media and organizing files as well as a listening session with law enforcement leaders.
In May, Rutledge hosted a week long display at the Arkansas State Capitol highlighting twenty-one missing individual stories. In 2018, Rutledge released the first comprehensive resource guide for families of missing loved ones which is available to be downloaded or ordered for free at ArkansasAG.gov and NeverForgotten.ar.gov. Each week, Rutledge posts “Missing Person Monday” on social media highlighting a different case.
