HOPE – The Hope Public Schools Board of Education will meet a second time Wednesday, April 14, to continue developing its search process to select a new superintendent for the district.
Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart said the board will meet at 3 p.m. in an executive working session similar to its first meeting April 8.
“I expect they will finalize their process but there is no action that will come out of it,” Dr. Hart said.
He said the board has been working to determine its options regarding the superintendent search, including whether to make an interim appointment or not; whether to look from within and externally; and whether to direct the search or do so through a consultant.
“I don’t think they have made any decisions yet,” Hart said. “They are exploring all their options and formulating what it is they want to do.”
Hart will remain with the HPS through June 30, after which he will begin duties as superintendent of the Searcy, Arkansas, public schools. He was formally named superintendent at Searcy from a field of four finalists after a day-long series of interviews, meetings and campus visits on April 2.
Hart has directed the operations of the HPS since 2012.
