FAYETTEVILLE - First joining the Razorbacks as a walk-on, via Florida State transfer receiver Warren Thompson has been placed on UA scholarship.
Thompson, who played at Florida State in 2019 while Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles was Florida State’s offensive coordinator, caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from quarterback KJ Jefferson during Arkansas’ 45-10 victory over Georgia Southern last Saturday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
“Warren is a big receiver that can run and we had the matchup,” Arkansas Coach Sam Pittman said Sunday night on his TV show. “Of course KJ had to make a great throw, but that’s why I put Warren Thompson on scholarship, because I knew he could do those type things and he’s getting better each week.”
For the Razorbacks, 3-0 going into Saturday’s CBS televised 2:30 p.m. SEC opener against Texas A&M at the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium,
Thompson is their fourth leading receiver with 4 catches for 81 yards including his touchdown.
