AUSTIN, Texas – Tre’Bien Gilbert finished runner-up in the Texas Relays 110m hurdles final on Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium, while producing a wind-aided time of 13.39 seconds, the fastest of his career under all conditions.

Gilbert’s effort was one of four races the Razorbacks were involved in on the final day of the 94th Texas Relays. Arkansas placed third in the 4x800, seventh in the 4x100, and eighth in the 4x400.

This weekend Gilbert, the 2018 Texas state champion in the 110m and 300m hurdles with Converse Judson in San Antonio, enjoyed visiting with his high school coaches prior to racing on a familiar track.

LSU’s Eric Edwards, Jr., the 2017 Texas state champion in the 110m hurdles at Langham Creek in Houston, claimed the 110m hurdle victory in 13.24 (2.6 wind) with USC’s Omotade Ojora third in 13.52.

Edwards and Gilbert, who has a wind-legal best of 13.41 from the 2021 Olympic Trials, posted the fastest pair of times under all-conditions in the world for the 2022 season.

With a line-up of Kieran Taylor (1:50.94), Jadon Bartholomew (1:51.80), Ricardo Banks (1:51.36), and Leroy Russell III (1:52.74) the Razorbacks posted a time of 7:26.84 for third place. South Plains won the race in 7:20.31 with Texas A&M second in 7:24.03.

A time of 39.80 placed Arkansas seventh in the 4x100 with a crew of Roman Turner, Phillip Lemonious, Connor Washington and James Benson II.

Florida won the race with a 38.47 over a 38.87 from Texas while Texas Tech placed third in 39.12.

In the 4x400 a Razorback line-up included James Milholen, Benson II, Washington, and Brandon Battle. Florida posted a winning time of 3:02.20 ahead of Texas A&M (3:02.41), Baylor (3:02.68), and Texas (3:02.99).
