Following a grueling, grit-tested weekend on the diamond, the 10U Southwest Arkansas Allstars are officially heading to the big show. The team fought their way to a spectacular State Runner-Up finish, punching their ticket to the prestigious Dixie Youth Baseball World Series in Laurel, Mississippi at the end of July.
The Allstars opened their state tournament run on Friday with an offensive explosion, crushing Monticello in an 11-run clinic to secure a statement victory. Saturday brought a dramatic, high-scoring nail-biter against Arkadelphia, with Southwest Arkansas showing serious poise under pressure to pull out a thrilling 12-9 win. Later that day, the boys hit their toughest speed bump of the tournament, dropping a tough 17-0 contest to a formidable Sevier County squad.
But true champions are defined by how they respond to adversity.
Entering the elimination bracket on Sunday—and enduring hours of exhausting weather delays—the boys kept their heads high and absolutely dismantled Arkadelphia in a 14-2 bounce-back statement victory. By Monday, the momentum was unstoppable. Facing elimination once again, the Allstars battled past Texarkana with a gritty 8-4 win, roaring back into the State Championship game for a highly anticipated rematch with Sevier County.
While they ultimately fell short of the state title, the Allstars proved they belong on the national stage. They fought tooth and nail, becoming the only team in the entire tournament capable of holding the powerhouse Sevier County offense to just 10 runs across 5 innings of play.
Their resilience earned them the trip of a lifetime. The Allstars will officially kick off their World Series journey on Thursday, July 30 at 12:30 PM, where they will square off against Halifax, Virginia.
