Gerald Wayne Lynn

Gerald Wayne Lynn, 78 passed away Thursday, June 8, 2 2023.

Gerald was born on January 14, 1945, the son of Oral Ivan Lynn and Mildred Howard Lynn.  He was raised in Canfield, Arkansas by his beloved grandparents Ura Lynn and Esther Powers Lynn. 

He began his 34-year career with the United States Department of Agriculture as the Executive Director for Hempstead County where he served for more than 17 years before holding similar positions in Shoshone, Idaho, Graham County, Arizona and Saint Lucie County in Florida. 

Gerald rarely met a stranger and took pride in making friends wherever he went.  He measured wealth by friendships, not dollars.  He had a passion for country music and enjoyed playing the guitar while singing along.  He took pride in his son’s shared love for the instrument.  

Gerald is survived by his children, Christopher Jerome Lynn, Vickie Lynn Fielitz (Robert Fielitz), Douglas Alvin Lynn and Jason Patrick Lynn (Akane Lynn); his grandchildren Taylor Lynn Jordan (Blake Jordan), Alec Gotoh, Bradley Lynn and Midori Lynn and great grandson Joshua Myles Jordan.

Services will be held on Monday, June 12th at the Herndon Funeral Home in Hope, Arkansas.  Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at the Forest Grove Cemetery in Walkers Creek.
