Hempstead County Quorum Court authorizes sale of grader to Pike County
The Hempstead County Quorum Court met for their September meeting last night and passed Ordinance 2023-11 to authorize the exchange of properties between counties. Said property is a 2007 CAT grader to be sold to Pike County for $10,000. According to the quorum, this particular grader is one that is in disrepair, but Pike County would like to buy it to use for parts.

In other business, Judge Jerry Crane said Ed Darling was nominated as chairmen for the budget committee and that Scott Gunter, Steve Atchley, James Griffin, and Jessie Henry were going to work with the committee, as well. Crane said the meeting would be open to any other quorum court members who wanted to attend. Those committee members decided to meet next Tuesday at 5:30 to start work on the budget.

The full meeting can be watched below.
