Nevada County Clerk Tammie Rose receives vote boxes at the county courthouse Tuesday night.
In the elections in Nevada County today, Prescott’s voters endorsed a one-cent sales tax on retail goods as a way of paying the town’s debt for an electricity bill. Meanwhile, in the southern part of the county, nearly two-thirds of Nevada Public School District’s voters gave a vote of confidence to education, approving a raise in the property taxes there to support a school millage.
The final vote breakdown was as follows:
For Prescott’s One Cent Tax: 248 Against: 20
For Nevada School District’s millage: 187 Against: 108.
