Melon Patch celebrates reopening with ribbon cutting event
The Melon Patch Restaurant held a ribbon cutting event Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the reopening of their business after they had to close down due to a fire back in May.

Members of the Hope Civitan Club, Chamber of Commerce Director Beckie Moore, Mayor Don Still, and others were in attendance at the event.

"It's great to see this reopen," Still said. "What a great day to be downtown and I appreciate all you do for the community."

The building caught on fire due to a washer and dryer started the fire, causing water and smoke damage inside the back of building.

"The Melon Patch Restaurant is a delightful place to have lunch in downtown Hope," their Facebook page says. "It’s a favorite of the “locals” and is known for good downhome cookin’."
